It feels like yesterday and simultaneously forever ago that we welcomed the newest adventurer to the team. Azura joined us on March 13th after a seemingly unending weekend. Without a doubt she was her mother's daughter, complete with a full head of hair and gleaming smile. Like all new parents, we were surprised that the hospital staff suggested we leave. What were we supposed to do? How do we keep this tiny human alive without proper training? Fortunately, Azura has been patient with us and the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. Many thanks to all who have been with us to support her and her parents physically, emotionally, and in spirit.
There's an uncanny family resemblance, especially when she's puffing them out. Night two at home she taught us about cluster feeding. Other than those infrequent "Merg'n Moments", she's an angelic baby.
The best thing about being an early spring baby is all the layers! We did not heed the warnings for the trillions of burp cloths and bibs we'd need. Fortunately, our family of crafters supplier Azura with bibs, burp cloths, blankets, outfits, jackets, hats, mittens, swaddles, and booties. We truly think she might be one of the most loved babies in history!
We all need a little help sometimes, and Azura frequently needs bouncing on an exercise ball to fall asleep. This further wears out her sleep deprived parents so they might not make it to bed. It works out in the end as snuggles and cuddles are the best!
At just 2 months old, Azura embarked on her first adventure to the mystical land of Falls Church. She seemed to think she was the guest of honor at her aunt's wedding, gathering hugs and holds from everyone across the four gathered generations. She put on her best behavior making a wonderful first impression to all. The weather cooperated, the fun lasted the entire trip, and once again the support was immense. On the flight home she had a gleam in her eye that said, "That was an epic adventure!"
